New Born Kittens

New Born Kittens, Born April 30, 2010

Miss Piggy Pinknose seemed to have had her kittens ten days sooner than expected.  She was so gentle with them, she failed to dispose of the afterbirth sack attached to them and I had to cut it loose myself.  I did not realize it was still attached to the kittens until I attempted to remove it from her box and found that the two kittens were still securely attached.

Miss Piggy Pinknose got her name because she never fails to track down any new sack of catfood and tear a hole in it so she can eat before anyone else.  In order to prevent holes in my cat food bags I have to hide them behind a cabinet door. However,  Miss Piggy is adept at opening cabinet doors too.  I don’t have this problem with any of my other cats.  For a closer look click on the picture to enlarge.

I have bottle fed kittens before and I did not want to have to do it again so Miss Piggy Pinknose was treated like the queen of Sheba for the duration of raising these kittens.  She was not feeling well and I had to give her some vitamins and anti-biotic medicine to get her back to normal.  She is such a great mommy.
